Advise whether the current diversity of staff mix matches the organisation’s current need. Variables can include gender, age, ability, ethnic background, personality, skill mix. You should also advise whether the diversity mix meets the needs of clients/customers such as creating more cultural awareness that leads to better decision making. Use number or percentages of staff now and your target in 1 to 2 years’ time. Choose art least 2 diversity variables.

2 Comment whether the current organisational strategy and workforce plans are aligned. You need to provide evidence of the link between organisational strategy and workforce plans. You should also explain why this link is needed. Workforce plans need to reflect organisation strategy so the ‘right people’ in the ‘right numbers’ with the right skills are available to deliver on the organisations goals.

3 Comment where there is staff turnover and whether the turnover is acceptable. Identify strategies to address the issue. You need to provide an understanding of issues in staff turnover. This includes either a percentage or actual numbers of staff leaving and why this is/could be a problem. You could also discuss where turnover is occurring (by location; job group; age; etc.)

4 Define strategies to find skilled labour from external sources You need to identify where to source external skilled labour. Depending on your planning need, examples could be educational institutions, immigration, professional associations, dedicated employment consultancies with history of delivery of skilled people
5 Develop contingency options to deal with extreme situations (such as the loss of a large number of retiring personnel in a short period of time, health epidemic, remote location where replacement workers are hard to attract, sudden unexpected large order which must be filled etc.).
