Develop your Own Development Plan
Deliverables:
Develop your own development plan in 1 – 2 pages.
o The plan should cover the time period from now through 1 – 3 years following graduation.
o You can use the information you created as part of the “Personal Career Planning” exercise in
class as a possible starting point.
o Your plan should be built to support the skills you think you will need for your aspired to career.
o Your plan should leverage your strengths and address key gaps.
o You should make use of the material presented in Chapter 1 of Exploring Management as well as
the other supplemental information presented through D2L when drafting your plan.
o Plans should be presented in outline form and include at least the following areas: Development
Area (goal), measures of success, planned activities, and timeline. A tabular format is often an
effective way to complete these deliverables.
Formatting Requirements
1 – 2 pages (maximum), Times New Roman 11 Point Font, single spacing and 1” margins
Name and assignment right justified on top two lines of page 1
Page numbers in the lower right corner of all pages
Your papers will be graded on the level of thought put into your development plan as evident by
how thorough and realistic your plan.
